Roman de science-fiction en trois parties sur l'évolution d'une religion et sur la manière dont la science et le rituel peuvent devenir une religion capable de produire de vrais miracles.
Historical fiction is not my genre to begin with, and this just seemed to go on forever. Most of the outcomes of the characters we know in advance, since the narrator, a Cornwall aristocrat living through the English civil war, spends the first chapter reflecting back on the past couple decades. Then she begins telling her own story beginning at age 18. There is one big surprise at the end of the book. But the rest of the story was not terribly compelling. I'd rather read about history from history books. One thing that did bother me: did Honor Harris know or intuit that (view spoiler)? It didn't make a lot of sense.
